Privacy policy
The LSE Hellenic Conference is organised by a student committee drawn from the Hellenic and Cypriot societies of LSE Students' Union and King's College London. That committee is the data controller for the personal information described here.
Questions about this notice, or about the information we hold, can be sent through the enquiries page.
What we collect
- Ticket list and speaker announcements: your email address, and your name if you choose to give it.
- Sponsorship requests: your name, work email, organisation, tier of interest, and anything you add in the message.
- General enquiries: your name, email address and your message.
- Technical records: like most websites, our server records basic technical information such as the IP address a request came from, so that we can keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it
We use your information to reply to you, to send the conference updates you have asked for, and to organise and report on the conference. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to the conference.
Who we share it with
Only the people and services that need it: members of the organising committee who handle enquiries, sponsorship or the ticket list, and the email service that delivers our messages (Resend), which acts on our instructions. The website and the submissions it stores run on the conference's own server.
How long we keep it
Ticket-list and speaker-list details are kept until the 2027 conference has taken place. Enquiry and sponsorship records are kept for as long as the committee needs them for reporting and accounts. You can ask us to delete your details sooner, and we will do so unless we are obliged to keep a record.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the enquiries page and the committee will act on your request. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. The light or dark colour scheme you choose is stored in your own browser and is not sent to us. A cookie is set only if you sign in to the committee area. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
